The Food Bank of The Sanctuary Project
The Sanctuary Project runs an active food bank supplying Veterans,
Seniors and Others in Duplin County. Thanks to the generosity of Food Lion,
Wal-Mart, Piggly-Wiggly and
others we expect to increase in service to continue in the future. "2nd Harvest" in Fayetteville is the local
agent of the nationwide foundation called "Feeding America". They are
the strongest helpers of the needy in our area and we are honored to work in
collaboration with them.

The
Food Bank distributes over 2,500 lbs of food per week to disadvantaged persons
in Duplin County. All funds and labor are donated. As yet, there have been no
subsidies of any kind from State or Local agencies. Nevertheless such funds are
sorely needed to continue and expand the service.

The
Food Bank is located at the Old Magnolia Golf Course premises and all transport
is performed using private vehicles of the volunteer helpers.
